Aloha, I’m Luca Cattaneo.
After completing University studies I became a registered freelance and part-time journalist, specialized in sports photography.
From 1987 I was an active member of the Agency PentaPhoto in Milan, and then a correspondent for The Associated Press. I have covered events in major sports worldwide (including seven Olympic Games, more then ten years of alpine ski world cup and world championships in various sports).
For over twenty years, I have been developing new ideas and techniques to capture fragments of the world around us through my camera lens. I signed some books including the one in 2006 “Iceland frames 1-50”.
You can view some of my recent photo portfolios using the links below.
A sportsman for life
In the recent, at the end of the nineties I was four times at the start of the car race 24 Hours of Daytona in the GT category (6th place as best result), winner of the 1000 Km of Monza in the GT category, and winner of other international endurance races.
From 2014 I started a new adventure as a marathoner, and I became a finisher among other of the series Abbott Six Stars World Marathon Majors (Berlin, Boston, Chicago, London, New York City, Tokyo).
About ten years later I embarked on new adventures in triathlon competitions (swim bike and run), specifically by competing in Ironman events and becoming 70.3 Ironman finisher in 2024.
